Info: Markets for Biocomposites & Sustainable Circular Economy
8th Biocomposites Conference Cologne
14–15 November 2019, Maternushaus, Cologne, Germany
The use of bio-based fillers and reinforcing natural fibres greatly reduces the proportion of fossil carbon in the biocomposites and increases the proportion of renewable carbon accordingly. This makes it possible to leave more fossil resources in the ground and consequently to protect the climate.
If one wants to have even more renewable resources in the product, bio-based and/or recycled plastics can be used. This makes it possible to produce materials that completely dispense with fossil carbon and are based purely on renewable carbon. Also Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) show a low carbon footprint of natural fibres and biocomposites. Established sustainability certification solutions for biocomposites are available today.
Biocomposites offer sustainable solutions for the replacement of fossil resources. But why is it so difficult to sell sustainability? How can we sell sustainability and profit from the circular economy and the new awareness of the population? How can we reach credibility for our products with the right certificate? What are the pit falls and how can they be avoided? How are biocomposites perceived by consumers?
Eight speakers will present their views on sustainability and biocomposites:

Have you considered to book a booth? You find information on the exhibition here. Experience shows that the exhibition is booked out very quickly.
If you will come with some colleagues and book a booth, sponsoring can be a very attractive option! You are welcome to benefit from the high innovative business environment as a sponsor of the Biocomposites Conference.
Last but not least, producers and inventors of innovative, new applications for Biocomposites submitted their applications for the innovation award “Biocomposite of the Year 2019" - sponsored by Coperion. All six nominated companies will be published very soon.
